Shibli National PG College remembers its founder

Azamgarh: Shibli National PG College paid glowing tribute to its founding father Allama shibli Noamani on his death anniversary. Advocate Faiz Ahmad, manager, enlightened the audience on the founder’s life and the services rendered by him. He recalled the significant role played by him in emphasising the importance of both – the religious as well as secular education. This was prompted by a realisation that a community which had been governing the nation became a subject to a foreign power. Education alone could restore the status quo. Secretary of the Society, Adv. Vasiuddin, recalled in his presidential address that Allama had authored several texts covering Islamic history and many of these are a part of syllabus. Prof Javed Ali Khan recalled the fact that the learned scholar earned universal reputation on basis of his profound knowledge and scholarship. Other speakers included Dr Salman Sultan, Nasim Ahmad Zilli, Dr Ilyas Azmi and Sirajuddin Khan.
