Hyderabad Muslim youths attacked

Hyderabad: At around 11:30 pm on  8 November, two different incidents of attacks on Muslim youths took place in this city in which three Muslim youths were seriously injured. The victims were returning after meeting relatives during Eid festival. The youth who was attacked at Kachiguda Masangatti Road was identified as Omer Farooq s/o Abdur Rehman (23 years), a resident of Old Malakpet. He was admitted into Sai Krishan Hospital and is in a serious condition.

The other two youths who were attacked at Bowenpally (Army area) were identified as Abdul Kareem s/o late Abdul Intekhab, a resident of  Taadbun and Abdul Azeem s/o late Abdul Gafoor, a resident of Darulshifa. Both were admitted into Sai Krishna Hospital. Abdul Kareem is in a serious condition while Abdul Azeem has been dischareged from the hospital.

The attacks were carried out by suspected RSS elements. Both attacks were similar and the Muslim youths were attacked with kamma kattis on their head and neck. Similar attacks are going on since Diwali against Muslims. The first attack took place in the outskirts of the city under Cyberabad Police limits and on Ibrahimpatnam Road under Vanasthalipurum Police Station limits. The matter was brought to the notice of  Dinesh Reddy, DGP Andhra Pradesh, S A Huda, Addl. DGP (L&O) and Tirmal Rao, Commissioner of Police Cyberabad. After strict vigilance by Cyberabad Police, the attacks stopped but the culprits have not been identified yet in the previous cases. The attacks later moved to Hyderabad city limits possibly to prepare the ground for a communal flareup. Amjed Ullah Khan, Corporator Azampura Division, visited the spot where the above two cases took place and he also visited the victims in hospital and spoke to them promised them all help.
