Social activist Faisal Khan of Khudai Khidmatgar has today started a 72 hour fast from his house in Jamia Nagar against illegal arrest of Muslims in his locality in the name of terrorism. He has sent us the following press note:

When I come back after my 15 days journey of Save Sharmila Campaign  I got to hear about the news that two youths Gauhar Aziz Khomani and Mohammed Irshad Khan who are residents of Okhla [Jamia Nagar] have been arrested by special cell of Delhi Police violating Supreme Court's directive as enunciated in the D.K.Basu Guidelines, by failing to inform the families about there arrest.

False and illegal arrests of Muslim youths has been in process for long. This is painful to all the citizen of this democratic and secular country.

To oppose this I have decided to sit on fast for 72 hours from 7th December 8 a.m. to 10th December 8.a.m.  I have chosen my own house beside Rajghat or Jantar Mantar because Muslim Youths are not even safe in their houses so symbolically I am sitting in my own House.
