Indian Welfare Society’s charity drive

Deoband: Indian Welfare Society organised free distribution of warm clothes among poor school-going children at a programme at Sheikh-ul-Hind Hall which was attended by prominent residents of the locality. Municipal Chairman, Hasib Siddiqui, lauded this noble gesture by pointing out that helping the poor brings merit and virtues to people who are kind to others. Chief guest on the occasion, tehsildar BP Mishra, expressed his appreciation and said that through such acts of charity the society is helping the district administration.  President of the society, Dr. Shamim Deobandi, apprised the gathering that the society proposes to undertake several charitable drives. The society is a forerunner in such activities and will expand its services by launching drives of distributing blankets, quilts, medicines etc among poor. Social activists Deepak Raj Singhal, Manoj Singhal, city corporator, also expressed their views on the occasion and praised the Society for undertaking such drives and urged other social groups to undertake similar programmes.
