Taj Mahal likely to be lost forever

London: Like other ancient monuments, Taj Mahal too is facing survival threat. The tourist boom has taken a heavy toll of heritage buildings which shall not be able to sustain the tourist onslaught. Future Laboratory, a renowned British institution, in its report has expressed fear that probably after the next twenty years, this precious heritage may get lost in oblivion. Daily Express has reported that such threat exists for all other heritage sites. Hence, it is suggested that entry to these places should be restricted and these be made exclusively for aristocrats and VIPs. Sahir’s satirical lines, may take an ironical turn:

ek shahanshah ne daulat ka sahara lekar
hum gharibon ki mohabbat ka udaya hai mazaq

Taj will become, then, only for shehenshah and daulatmands.
