Hizbut Tahrir takes Indian Muslims for a ride

+ Pic

New Delhi: A Hizbut Tahrir (HT) leader from Palestine visited Delhi last month masquerading as “Imam and Khatib of Al-Aqsa mosque.” Mosques and ordinary Muslims opened their doors and hearts for this fake Imam of Al-Aqsa, while Muslim organisations were quick to smell the rat and did not welcome him. Calling himself “Abu Muhammad Al-Hamouri”, this man donning religious robe urged Muslims to work for Khilafah, which is the way Hizbut Tahrir makes inroads into Muslim hearts and minds for its secretive mission. HT is a clandestine movement banned in all Arab countries but works openly in Israel which also hosts the international headquarters of the Baha’is and Qadiyanis.

One wonders why the Indian government has allowed a preacher of HT to roam around in India. The only purpose could be to import and induct a new divisive factor into the Indian Muslim community. Very recently, we received the news from the Valley of Kashmir that Indian agencies are encouraging discord within the Muslim community by encouraging and aiding certain sects. Divide-and-rule is an old imperialist policy. It is a matter of shame that ruling classes in free India still believe in his age-old colonial strategy.
