Muslim organisations discuss Assam violence

New Delhi, 28 July 2012: Representatives of Muslim organisations, including Jamaat-e Islami Hind, Jamiat Ahl-e Hadees, Muslim Political Council, as well as Welfare Party of India, met here at Mushawarat headquarters and discussed the ongoing violence against Assamese Muslims by Bodo chauvinists in vast parts of Assam. They decided to meet some important leaders at the Centre as well as in Assam. They also decided to visit the affected areas, especially refugees camps, to offer solace and relief of urgent nature. The AIMMM delegation is slated to go to Assam within the next few days.
The meeting was chaired by AIMMM president Dr. Zafarul-Islam Khan and attended by Janab Muhammad Jaafar and Janab Muhammad Shafi Madni, Vice President and Secretary, respectively, of Jamaat-e Islami Hind, representatives of Jamiat Ahl-e Hadees, Dr. Taslim Rahmani, President of Muslim Political Council, PC Hamza, General Secretary of Welfare Party of India and others.
