AMU to have separate students union for girls college

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University will have a separate students’ union for girls instead of a single union as administered during the last academic session. This is in accordance with the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations which provided that if there was a separation between two campuses, the institution could have two separate unions. AMU V.C. Zameeruddin Shah said there was no discrimination against girls as the elected President of Women’s College Students’ Union would be ex-officio member of the Executive Committee of the AMU Students’ Union.
