New Delhi, Thursday, 11 October 2012: Javed Habib, 78, an important Muslim community leader, died here this afternoon after a heart attack. He was president of Bharati Majlis and editor of Urdu weekly Hujoom.

He played an active role in the Babri movement and later formed his own Babri group once the movement split after the demolition of the mosque in 1992. Originally a native of Tonk (Rajasthan), he was based in Delhi. He will be buried tomorrow, Friday, at the Batla House graveyard in Okhla after Friday prayers.
