Senior-most student of Aligarh Muslim University NASIR HUSAIN SIDDIQUI died at the age of 96 at Belthara Road Balia UP on 23 Dec 2010. He completed his BA BT degree from the AMU in 1934. He also served as a leader, a principal and later retired as deputy inspector of Schools in 1974.

Dr. SYED MUHAMMAD AHMAD ex-publication officer of AMU Aligarh died on 25 December 2010 at the age of 75 years.

Senior journalist and educationist SYED HAIDER ABIDI of Naugaon Sadat expired on 24 Dec 2010 at Mumbai. He edited the Madhya Kal and the Hindi and Urdu Reporter and was an active social worker. He was one of the founders of Anjuman Abidia, Mumbai.

Urdu poet GHANI AIJAZ expired on 20 December after a brief illness at Akola, Maharashtra at the age of 85. He was known for his two poetry collections, Gard-e Safar and Dasht-e Arzoo.

Haji HAFIZ RIZWAN KHAN founder president of Jamiate Ulama Saharanpur expired on 27 Dec. 2010 at the age of 65.

Haji GHULAM QADIR BEG a colleague of Shaikh Muhammad Abdullah expired last month.

Professor RIFAT SIDDIQUI noted journalist and head of the department of Mass Communication and journalism, Urdu University, Hyderabad expired on 20 Dec. 2010.

Noted religious scholar and Imam-e-Hai, Peer Ghulam Muhammad Naqashbandi, passed away at Bandipora in north Kashmir on December 25. Naqashbandi, 93, was ailing for a long time. Scores of people attended his funeral prayers and burrial.

Noted jurist Advocate, ZAHEER MOHSIN NAQVI expired on 6 Jan 2011 at the age of 75 at Moradabad, UP. He is survived by two daughters and his wife.

Maulana MAHFUZUR RAHMAN SABRI MAZAHIRI, administrator and founder of Madrasa Azizia Khazinatul Uloom, Sitamarhi, Bihar expired on 14 Dec. 2010 at the age of 63 at Popri, Sitamarhi.

Mr. ABDUL SHAKUR, of Madhubani a.k.a Bunkar Gandhi died on 6 Dec. 2010 at his native place at Chandrasenpur.

Maulana ABDUR RASHEED Bahraichi head teacher at Madrasa Islamia Anwarul Islam Kithwar died on 4 Jan 2011.
