Kashmir’s new top cop talks tough on Baramulla deaths

Newly appointed Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Range) SM Sahai has taken a serious note over the death of four persons, including a student in police firing during a protest in Baramulla district on 8 September. Expressing his concern over the incident Sahai said that the death of four people is a big issue. In order to give a strong message it is believed that Sahai has ordered the investigation of the weapons of the policemen who fired on protestors to find out who had opened fire at that time. Sahai after taking charge has ordered policemen to exercise maximum restraint in order to avoid any precarious situation in the near future. The new top cop also said that once the identity of the policemen is known stern action would be taken against them.
