Church attacked in Mysore statue of Mother Mary broken

Mysore: A church in Mysore in Karnataka has been vandalised. In the attack on 24 January night, a statue of Mother Mary was broken. The Holy Family Church had also been stoned 10 years ago; that case is still being heard in a local court. Churches in Karnataka have been repeatedly attacked, leading to allegations of a right-wing agenda in the BJP-ruled state. Authorities deny this charge; the police said the latest incident could be a case of attempted theft. The cash box at the church, however, was not touched.
