KhaNdhar bataa rahe hainN imaarat buland thee...

During a recent visit to Badaun, I snapped the house where Shakeel Badauni, the great poet of yester- years, was born and brought up. This house is situated on Shakeel Road. Like many houses in this locality, it looked in a dilapidated condition due to lack of maintenance. The balcony of the main door could not bear the rainfalls for decades and eventually collapsed. The main door, though not painted for many years, still looked like traditional doors in this town. A young kid was enjoying his bath right in front of this door using the free  of municipal water connection.
