Prize distribution to children through competitions

Lucknow: Children of Mumtaz Darul Yatama, Lucknow, organised various cultural programmes and hoisting of national flag on the occasion of Republic Day. At the end of the function, in order to inculcate literary taste in them, different competitive programmes like bait-bazi, recitation of na’ts, shedding light on different aspects of Prophet’s life and character, Islamic quiz etc were held at Maulana Hashmi Hall of Anjuman Islahul Maslimeen Building on 28 January. Members of the Anjuman and particularly Chaudhari Sharfuddin, senior Vice President, Zafaryab Jilani and others participated in this programme.

For bait-bazi competition, two teams of four students each of sixth and ninth classes were formed. This programme was very well conducted by Darul Yatama student Muhammad Shahbaz. Children’s performance in this programme was very much appreciated by the audience when they recited/quoted couplets of famous poets in response to opposite party’s couplets. In the senior group of bait-bazi competition, the first prize was shared by Shahbaz, Wasi and Nayab, the second prize was shared by Sayeed, Shahnawaz and Shahar Alam and the third prize was shared by Afzaal, Farid and Sarfaraz. Similarly, prizes in the junior group were shared by three students each of opposite groups. In the same way first, second and third prizes were given to groups of students in Islamic quiz and recitation of na’ats.
