Six months jail to Christian preacher in MP

Badwani: Judicial officer of Badwani (Madhya Pradesh), R. Chandrawanshi sentenced a Christian preacher to six months imprisonment on charges of working for religious conversion. Prosecution officer S. Movel said that a preacher of Christianity, Hattay Singh was sentenced on 25 January to six months jail and a fine of Rs 500 for religious conversion in consideration of money. According to the prosecution, on the report of Mohit Sengar of Badwani, a case was registered against Hattay Singh on 28 June 2008 under Freedom of Religion Act, 1968. He was accused of converting adivasis of Nolpura village to Christianity through Changai Sabha by offering money.
