Computer Learning Centre of IOS, Delhi

New Delhi: The Computer Learning Centre started by the Institute of Objective Studies (IOS) in cooperation with Delhi Minorities Commission one year ago for Muslim girl students has completed one year and the first batch of about 40 girl students has also completed its course. A function was held at Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit’s official residence where certificates were given to successful candidates. Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Ishtiaq Ahmad of IOS said that girl students took keen interest in this course but many more could not be admitted because of shortage of space in this Centre. He said that many girls have already got offers of employment from reputed companies. Shiela Dikshit, after distributing certificates to successful students, praised the services being rendered by IOS under its chairman Dr. Manzoor Alam for enabling girl students to stand on their own feet which would benefit the community as well as the country. About shortage of space in the Computer Centre she said that her government would try to provide a bigger building to IOS so that much larger number of girls could learn. This and other higher courses which will go a long way in the empowerment of Muslim and other girls of the society.
