Alliance School Murshidabad’s 5th annual day

Uttar Ghoshpara, Murshidabad: Alliance School Murshidabad held its 5th annual day here on 29 January at the school campus near Jalangi in Murshidabad district. The school has now reached class 6 and has more than 400 students. Once the capital of golden Bengal, Murshidahad today is a very backward and poor area in West Bengal and this particular area, where the school is situation, is even worse. Charity Alliance work started here in April 2005 when persistent news about hunger deaths came out from this area. Charity Alliance work progressed slowly from distribution of food to vocational training to meeting educational fees of poor children to shouldering medical expenses of the poor and finally the School was started in 2009 when people of the area kept requesting for a school as there is not even a government school in the area. It allows the poor and deprived to get free education while those in a better situation pay the meagre fees charged. The school is embodiemnt of the realisation that  the only waty to progress in the contemporary world is education. Charity Alliance also runs here a vocational centre and offers medical and educational help to the poor. Zafarul-Islam Khan, chairman, Charity Alliance, attended the annual day where medals and certificates to outstanding students were awarded. Certificates were also awarded to the previous batch of trainees whoh completed the 8-month-long tailoring training at the vocational centre last year.
