Salma Ansari’s achievements — "Colours of my Rainbow"

Salma AnsariBollywood actor Aamir Khan made a special trip to Delhi from the Berlin Film Festival to participate at the launch of a book Colours of my Rainbow on Vice President Hamid Ansari’s wife Salma Ansari’s work.

The book highlights efforts taken and hurdles faced by Salma Ansari in providing education to weaker and marginalised children in Aligarh. Salma Ansari, alumni of AMU, started a school project for migrant workers’ kids in Aligarh.

Himani Verma, the writer of the book and a teacher in Modern School at Barakhamba Road in Delhi said that Ansari was motivated to take on this project when she saw the pitiable plight of children at a locksmith factory. These schools were established under the guidance of Al-Noor Charitable Society.

Upon the release of the book Aamir said, “It is very inspiring to see Mrs Ansari and her organisation trying to reach out to these children. Contribution in the field of education is one of the most important things to do.”
