Seminar on Shah Waliullah and book release of collection of his treatises

New Delhi: A seminar including a book release was organised here on 7 May by Shah Waliullah Institute headed by Mufti Ataur Rahman Qasmi, a well-known scholar and teacher of Islamic sciences. Union Minister of Technology Kapil Sibal graced the occasion and offered his congratulations to the institute and its director for their work and academic services. A collection of the treatises of Imam Waliullah, Majmu'ah Rasa'il Imam Shah Waliullah - ek ta'aruf was released on the occasion. It has been compiled by Mufti Ataurrahman Qasmi. Prof Sharif Huysain Qasmi presented a paper on the work of Imam Waliullah in Persian and the Qura'nic translations by him and his progeny.
 

Mufti Mukarram Ahmad, Shahi Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid, speaking on the Majmu'ah, said that it has collected treatises about which we had only heard and now they are collected together within a book which is a gret service.

Prof. Akhtarul Wasey of Jamia Millia Islamia said that Imam Waliullah was the mujaddid of his time who beautifully reconciled between conflicting ideas of Tasawwuf. The seminar ended with a short speech on the thoughts of Imam Waliullah by Mufti Ataur Rahman.
