Deoband: Twelve books written by the noted religious scholar, author, journalist and columnist, Maulana Nadeemul Wajidi were simultaneously released at a function held here at Darul Uloom Waqf on 4 June in the presence of a large gathering of prominent ulama, intellectuals and students. The books are mostly in Urdu and some in Hindi. The titles include: Islam: Haqaiq aur ghalat fahmiyan (Islam: Facts and misunderstandings), Naye zehan ke shubhaat aur Islam ka mauqif (Doubts of new generations and Islam’s Stand), Islam aur hamari zindagi, Aaj raat ki Taravih (in Urdu & Hindi), Ramzan kaise guzaarein, Musalmaanon ki siyasi aur milli zindagi etc.

At another book-release function at Delhi, Za’fran Zaar Kashmir written in Persian by Dr. Karim Najafi, Cultural Counselor of the Iranian Embassy at Delhi, was released at a function held at Sahitya Academy Auditorium in the presence of a distinguished gathering jointly sponsored by Iran Embassy’s Culture House and Sahitya Academy. The function was chaired by Prof. Shahid Mehdi, former Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia and included among others Vice-Chairman of Sahitya Academy, Prof. S.S. Noor, Prof. A.H. Abidi, Prof. Mushirul Hasan, etc. Prof. Shahid Mehdi, while speaking about the services of Dr. Karim Najafi said that during two years of his tenure in India, publication of more than 50 books by him is indeed a great feat.
