Zafarul-Islam Khan lectures at Shanti Niketan

New Delhi: Dr. Zafarul-Islam Khan, editor of The Milli Gazette, delivered Nizam National Lecture at Visva Bharti University (Shanti Niketan) founded by Rabindra Nath Tagore, on 15 February on “Jerusalem – past and present” This national lecture is sponsored every year by Nizam Endowment for Shantiniketan, under which a prominent scholar is invited to deliver a lecture on some important topic concerning Islamic studies. It is organised by Shanti Niketan’s Urdu, Arabic, Persian and Islamic Studies departments. The present head of these Departments is Prof. Neyaz Ahmad Khan who is an authority on Persian literature. In his lecture, chaired by Prof. Subayya, Dr. Khan shed light on four thousand years history of the holy city with emphasis on the post-1967 period.
