Gandhi killers are real enemies of India

New Delhi: A book, Christianity, Hindutva, Conversion: FAQs, written by Father Dominique Emmanuel, was released by Digvijay Singh, Congress general secretary, at a largely attended meeting at Delhi Catholic Archdiocese Community Centre on 5 February in the presence of Arya Samaji leader Swamy Agnivesh, CPI leader D. Raja, John Dayal and others.

This book is rather an extension of his earlier book The Real Face of Christians and Christianity which was published by Satya Manthan Sanstha, Varanasi in 1999. In the book released on this occasion and written in the background of Hindutva forces attacks on Christians and Muslims in the country, the ideology of Hindutva has been strongly criticised and stated that the real enemies of Indian nationalism are those who murdered Mahatma Gandhi, those who do not respect the concept of unity in diversity which is, truly speaking, the soul of Indian Constitution.

This book, in the background of Swami Aseemanand’s confession about the complicity of Hindutva forces in terrorism, is a timely expression and confirmation of doubts and fears among the Christians and Muslims. The foreword of this book is written by Swamy Agnivesh who, after the incident of burning alive of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two innocent children in Manoharpur (Orissa), had himself gone there to review the situation and had strongly criticised the campaign of hatred being spread in the country against Christians and Muslims.

Father Dominique Emmanuel, an author of many books, has spoken on religious topics on BBC World service, Jain TV etc and is one of the founder members of Parliament of Religions.
