Madni’s bail application rejected

Bangalore: Karnataka High Court’s Justice V. Jagannathan rejected on 11 February the bail application of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasir Madni who was arrested in this city in 2008 in connection with serial bomb blasts. Justice Jagannathan, however, allowed him to make an appeal in Supreme Court against his verdict. Karnataka’s advocate general Ashok, while requesting the High Court to reject Madni’s bail in consideration of national security had stated that Madni was also involved in violent incidents in Kerala. It may be stated that Madni was accused of his alleged complicity in the 2008 bomb blast in which one woman was killed and about 20 others were injured.
