Road in Delhi named after Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan

New Delhi: A new road linking Ring Road near Sarai Kale Khan with Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station has been named Ustad Haafiz Ali Khan Saheb Marg in the memory of the great Sarod master Ustad Haafiz Ali of Gwalior Gharana. Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan is the father of the famous Sarod player Amjad Ali Khan. This road is about 300 metres long. PWD spent about Rs 2 crores on raising the level of this road and building it. The road was inaugurated on 16 February by Delhi’s chief minister Shiela Dikshit.
