Where is Kashmir heading to?

Dear Dr. Masood Alam, Dr Zafarul Islam Khan and Mr. Mujtaba Farooq. Being in Delhi I hope that your obligations towards Kashmiri Muslims is more than the Muslims spread in other parts of the world. You all know better that Mohammad (sas) has said already Muslim Umma is like a body and if a thorn pricks in the heel the eye excrete tears. Hope so far you might have come to certain proposal to suggest to the government of India let she accept or reject. I suggest one proposal to be given to the home minister by the Muslim dignitaries of Delhi. They can collect the data about the casualties occurred during the last 50 years of Kasmiris, our armymen and army officers, the expenses incurred on Kashmir so far, the widows and orphans and their plight etc. All the details should be presented to the home minister. He can be convinced for giving Kashmir’s total autonomy. The Muslim leaders form one Islamic Government Syed Ali shah Geelani be nominated as president and Meer Waez Molvi farooq as chief minister of Kashmir. Let them amputate the hands of thieves adulterers be stoned to death (honor killing) in our country already Khap panchayats are already functioning. For Hindus their Personal Law can be imposed on them. The government will collect zakat from rich and spend on downtrodden. They can ban the usury. Wine will be prohibited. The government can withdraw its army only 1/10th army will serve the purpose. Let Mr. Chidambaram go and see the plight of the wives of our armymen who have been deputed in Kashmir at the mercy of militants. The Prophet categorically has said to Muslims in clear terms wherever a Muslim views evil he should curb by force if he is not competent to stop it by force he speak against it even this much authority he lacks he should think it bad in his heart. This is the lowest type of belief (Imaan). The discussion in Pakistan is politicized America does not want that peace should prevail in the subcontinent. US is making Headley a headache for us. Without the major issue of Kashmir the discussions are funny. But however it is beneficial to both the partner’s. The US and the trust deficit factor is also trailing the talks. The Muslims are the most visionary stock of the the country they cannot sit mute and see the Tamasha.

Commendable job of Urdu journalist forum of Bhagalpur

Bhagalpur was earlier known as silk city and the silk business was in the hand of Muslim but during Congress rule in 1989, Bhagalpur was ravaged by Hindutva forces killing more than 3500 innocent Muslims and destroyed more than 90 Masjids and burned villages of Muslim in hundreds. It was Congress government then Congress started declining in 2005-2010 Assembly Congress has only 10 MLA. Few constructive and justice loving people established Urdu journalist forum who is working for education spreading among poor and the forum is fighting for justice who are jailed without proper reason or for innocent person jailed. Forum is providing best legal help. Expenditure for legal help is given by the forum. We must congratulate commendable work so that Millat would follow such constructive activities.

Dr. Zakir Naik

It appears that some Muslims in India are angered because of the British ban on Dr. Zakir Naik. In fact he is also not allowed to enter Canada due to his hate statements he made while addressing various public meetings in Mumbai. In the past, enough damage was done by few Muslim extremist preachers in the U.K. and Dr. Zakir Naik is known here to be a controversial Islamic scholar. It is not expected for any one to use religion to create disharmony in society. As for Dr. Zakir Naik to attract masses with his eloquence and oratory power for his own insidious reasons, using Allah’s given photographic like memory and misguides people, is indeed un-Islamic. There are Muslims who do not agree to Dr, Naik’s ideology, as they suspect that he is being financed by the Wahabis, those who consider themselves to be true Muslims than other Muslim sects. These suspicions seem to be correct, especially since his given statements such as “battle of Karbala was political” and invoking peace on Yazid! He has also given statements such as “every Muslim should be a terrorist” and encourages them to be like Osama bin Laden. According to “Asian Voice” he made indecent and hateful remarks towards the Western women and America. Yazid, a self appointed leader of Muslims proved to be an arrogant dictator who was oppressive and unjust. His leadership was completely devoid of Islamic values and forced allegiance from every Muslim including Imam Hussain (a.s.) the grand son of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) However the Imam (a.s.) had declared, he would sacrifice his life to defend the truth for the pleasure of Allah, but would never ever submit to Yazid’s demands. It is said Sahih Bukhari also contains an adverse report about Yazid and one should listen to the lectures by the renowned Sunni scholar, Dr. Tahir-ul Qadri, which are in reply to Dr. Zakir Naik regarding Karbala and Yazid, the tyrant. All sects of Muslims, except perhaps Wahabis, the world over, agree that had Imam Husein (a.s.) submitted to Yazid’s demands, Islam would have disappeared from this earth and yet here is a renowned scholar Zakir Naik, who does not hesitate to ask Alla’s blessings for the murderer of Imam Husein (a.s.) and members of his family. Of course a Muslim deserves salaams (greetings) and expects to be wished to receive Allah’s blessings from another Muslim, provided he is not a known violator of Islamic tenets and Sunnah of the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) like Yazid. It is unbelievable that Dr. Zakir Naik is ignorant of the misdeeds of notorious Yazid and that in reality the conflict in Karbala was not political but was for religion. However because of his own secret agenda, he seems to have created a heretical story and is being elusive from disclosing the truth. If Dr. Zakir Naik is banned as a controversial scholar in Uttar Pradesh, India which is his own country, then how can Indian Muslims expect the U.K. government to allow him to enter the U.K.?

Can anyone locate Imambara of Namazi in Mumbai?

I am looking for any historical references to the Imambara of Namazi (Nemazi or Nemazee) in Mumbai which was located at one point in Bhori Mohalla region near JJ Hospital. Do you have any information about this Imambara in your records or archives? This Imambara covered an entire block and was established by our great grand father, H.M.H. Nemazi (or Namazi, Nemazee -- various English spellings of his name) in 1920s in Mumbai (Bombay). It served widows and orphans. At the same time there was also an imambara of Amin and Shoshtari. I would appreciate your assistance in this regard.

South Africa holding FIFA world cup an example for all

For those who take unconditional pride in being the torchbearers of India's rich and ancient civilisation, it must come as an eye opener, if not shock or shame, that South Africa, despite being much smaller in size, population and resources than India, could hold FIFA world cup so successfully that the entire world seem to have been mesmerised. Similarly, few years back China, a communist nation, held Olympic tournament in such style and grandeur that virtually changed the definition of the Olympics and put the western nations, let alone India, into a fix. I think, it is high time that 'Majoritarianists', whose arrogant views and attitude seem to have become second definition of 'secularism', stopped considering themselves to be the sole lovers and 'patriots' of this pluralistic country ( the fact is actually otherwise) and took minorities, bestowed with immense talent, into confidence rather than constantly making them feel insecure and inferior. So that India literally attains the status of a 'truly secular' nation and one day we could also hold tournaments like FIFA and Olympics.

Soaring prices of essential commodities

The recent report released by the government that food inflation has dipped to 12.29% is nothing but fallacious figure and misleading. However, the prices of all vegetables and pulses are increasing at an alarming rate and creating fear in the mind of common man. Looking at the price situation in the market it seems that these commodities are beyond the reach of common man. The market realities are totally different and do not seem to have any link with prices – they vary from vendor to vendor. Increased prices of vegetables and pulses have put more burden on common man owing to failure on part of the government to control hoarding and profiting by certain selfish elements like big manufacturers who take full advantage of increased fuel prices to hike the prices. Ironically, amidst all this chaos, there seems no special move on part of the government to tackle the worsening price situation as the escalating prices do not seem to worry the government at all and they are making only statements and speeches. It is high time they took a strong action to curb the rising prices. Otherwise the day is not far off when life of common people will become hell and the government will be fully responsible for the mess of the economy and country and its progress.

Noteworthy verdict from SC

It refers to welcome Division Bench verdict at Supreme Court where Mr Justice AK Ganguly and Mr Justice GS Singhvi upheld CIC verdict allowing disclosure of documents related to investigations in infamous ‘oil-for-food’ scam which led to ouster of Natwar Singh from Union Cabinet. Observations of Honourable judges for RTI Act being a breather of fresh air against corruption are worth-noting especially when members of Division Bench giving verdict at Supreme Court welcomed application of RTI Act to judiciary. Central Information Commission should post important Supreme Court verdict favouring RTI Act being applied to judiciary, on its website.

Failure of talks anticipated

It was quite obvious that Mr. SM Krishna was fully charged before the onset of talks. Therefore whatever he talked it was nothing but His masters’ voice. Though anti Pakistan policy is not beneficial to Indian nation as a whole but it is the mindset of 2% of a particular community who reins the country. This high caste junta is not able to understand the friendly relations between Pakistan and China. China will take undue benefit of the turmoil in Kashmir. It will try to sooth Pakistan as it is a multi season friend of Pakistan. Within a fortnight they will form a joint strategy to tease India and our false friend US will watch mute. So far the policy of hatred to Pakistan, India will always be in total loss. What ever the loss it falls on the nation, not to the high caste community.

Rupee symbol from an IIT graduate

The new Rupee symbol is something to write home about. The IIT graduate has proved that the institution is full of talent and can be relied upon for ideas. The new Rupee symbol is simple, clean, chiselled and still so entwined with India’s own cultural heritage of the script that dominates its public discourse, as if it is part and parcel of our old devnagari alphabet. However this symbol is to be standing next to other globally recognized symbols and there are some aesthetic angles that could work on the subconscious mind of the beholder. Take $ or € or £ or ¥; all have solid base. On the other hand, the new Rupee symbol conjures up a caricature of Dada’s langot hanging on the clothes line, or a kati Patang ravaged by wind, dangling on power-lines or the image of small girl playing langdi, the one-legged skip and jump game. The symbolism of run rupee run, smacks of an Indian version of American cartoon, the Road Runner. The base is missing. We do not want a run on the Rupee. Ever. Now that we are choosing a symbol that would become the permanent fixture of our very economic pomp and pride, why not invite more ideas from the public space and find out if a better symbol with more character of stability, dignity, immediate global recognizance, ease in writing, could still be creeping out from some ingenious minds of our scattered millions.

British PM vs Pak Law Minister

According to a news item, David Cameron, the British PM recently, took a commercial flight on an official visit to the US, saving the exchequer around $300,000. Under normal circumstances a Prime Minister would charter a Boeing 747 or 767 for his private use or would fly on a military jet. In the grand scheme of things, the amount isn't that significant - but the gesture is huge. In contrast, the Pakistani Law Minister, Dr. Babar Awan chartered a private plane to distribute government funds to the Bars of his choice. It is reported that he, like an Arab millionaire, has also been showering up to Rs 50,000 on the Naath Khwans of the functions. But then, he is known for his hallabaloos. I remember reading that after making a financial deal with, Sheikh Afzaal of Haris Steel Mill, for securing him positive results from Dogar Court; the latter wanted to meet him in the lounge of a posh hotel in Dubai where Dr Awan was staying. The doctor politely declined his invitation with an excuse that he was fasting. Half an hour later, Sheikh Afzaal saw Dr Sahib having tea in the lounge. Being a shrewd lawyer, Dr Awan quickly regained his composure from embarrassment and said he had to break the fast because of an upset stomach covering one lie with another. Interestingly, up until recently, he has been teaching the morals of the Quran on a TV channel. The point I am trying to make is that politicians should be honest to themselves first before they can become honest to the public and feel their pulse. Keeping the strained British economy in view, the British PM has kept his fingers on the pulse of the public’s feelings. And the Pakistani Law Minister in an identical or maybe worse financial situation is keeping his finger on his self acclaimed glorified personality. Long live our political leaders.

China, India and Pakistan

Largely circulated daily The Hindu tries his readers to make them well acquainted with the vexing problems and offers them fresh hand information. In its editorial China, India and Pakistan it has given the news of successful of Mr. Asif Ali Zardari’s tour of Pakistan. But it missed the reasons of its success and extreme friendship between the two neighbouring countries. We should find out the relevant and genuine causes of its friendship to Pakistan, in the same period when our external affairs minister SM Krishna, another minister Jai Ram Ramesh and our President Srimati Pratibha Devi Singh Patil visited China, President was given a grand guard of honour and did some important deals. China gave two nuclear reactors and promised to construct two highways in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK). It had entirely neglected the dignitaries of our country and did every thing what it thought deemed fit. China’s affinity with Pakistan may be the fallout of our continuous hostility to the neighbouring Pakistan, China wanted to show its support and mercy to Pakistan. The second reason may be India’s favour of US in its attack on Iraq and Afghanistan. Unjustified support to US made China anguished and went against the interests of India it made the tours of our ministers, secretaries and the president as non event and null and void. It was sheer waste to send National Security Advisor Shiv Shankar Menon to Beijing. We should neglect the low profile attitude of China; we could fetch nothing by supporting US. We are constantly loosing ground to our friends and foes; we are unable to distinguish between friends and foes. If China’s policy is not amended we shall have to surrender to China in future. It is the sharp and intelligent media which can guide our politicians in this grave situation

Miserable life in Haiti after earthquake

July 12 marked the six-month anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Haiti that killed as many as 300,000 people and left much of the country in ruins. Up to 1.8 million people are living in squalid tent cities, with inadequate sanitation, if any, no electricity and little security, or any respite from the intense heat and the worsening rains. Rape, hunger and despair are constant threats to the people stranded in the camps. Six months ago, the world seemed united with commitments to help Haiti recover. Now, half a year later, the rubble remains in place, and misery blankets the camps, layered with heat, drenched by rain. Haitians are angry, questioning, where the billions of dollars donated in the immediate aftermath of the earthquake have gone?

South Asia-target of Western imperialism

The greatest terrorist America had dropped atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1946, killing 170000 innocents instantly. Recently America has declared that it has 5113 atom bombs which are four thousands times more disastrous than those of 1946. America has given such 200 atom bombs to its puppet-Israel which is a dagger in the hearts of Arabs. America and her NATO allies had invaded and devastated Iraq and Afghanistan. Their state-terrorism, imperialism and hegemony is reaching alarming heights. After capturing Iraq and Afghanistan, America and Co is planning to invade Iran-world’s fourth oil producing country, and later on the entire South Asian Countries including India. India and other Asian and African countries should oppose the evil designs of arrogant and imperialist America and its allies. World community and UNO must stop the gross violation of International charter of human rights by America’s devilish human carnage and genocide.
