Inter-University competitions and prize distribution in JMI

New Delhi: Bazm-e Jamia of Jamia Millia Islamia’s Department of Urdu organised a two-day inter-university competition in different fields like ghazal singing, literary quiz etc. on 10 and 11 February. In ghazal singing competition 40 students took part. Its trophy, associated with Dr. Shakeel Jahangiri, was given to Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

First prize in this competition was won by Muhammad Qayamuddin of JNU. Second and third prizes were won by Sadaf Zohra of Department of Education, JMI and Wahida Saifi of Jamia’s Department of Urdu respectively. Consolation prizes were given to Abdur Raqeeb and Saaema Azmi.

In literary quiz First Prize was bagged by Abdul Baseer and Manzar Kamal of JNU and second prize was won by Muhammad Taiyyab and Shama Parveen (of JMI’s Department of Urdu) and third prize was won by Muhammad Ghufran, Rizwan Alam, Ma’az Ahmad and Amir Hamza of JMI’s Department of Urdu.

A drama Khandaani Gawah was also staged in the function. The awards were given away by Prof. Siddiqur Rahman Qidqwai, famous critic.
