90% weavers deprived of govts concessions and facilities

Mubarakpur (Azamgarh): Khairul Bashar, leader Bunkar Mazdoor Union’s (weavers labour union) said while speaking about the growing power and influence of Bunkars Union that now the voice of Mubarakpur’s Bunkar Mazdoor Union is no longer limited to Mubarakpur only but has reached Lucknow and Delhi.

In the last Bunkars Conference held at Varanasi on 29 January this Union was not only given the greatest importance but central ministers and important leaders who were present at this conference had carefully listened to the grievances and demands of the Union and had assured their redressal and implementation. At the same time, central minister Salman Khurshid and Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh had stated that it has now become clear that bunkars have become divided into two classes i.e., bunkar businessmen and bunkar labourers.

The leaders said that bunkar businessmen who form only 10 percent are prosperous but 90 percent bunkar labourers are deprived of all government facilities and incentive schemes and they are not getting any benefit of bunkar welfare schemes of the government. All the benefits are taken away by the bunkar businessmen because of their money and influence, because of which poor workers are being made to suffer.

The leaders assured that in future the interests of bunkar labourers and workers will be given preference in all the schemes that will be prepared and implemented.
