Rahmani Foundation’s free IOL Camp

Munger: Twenty-third Free IOL Lens Camp sponsored by Rahmani Foundation, Munger was held here in which 542 eye patients were operated upon and lens implanted in their eyes. Operations were performed by Dr. Abid of Ranchi, Dr. Mohan Lal of Hazari Bagh and Dr. K.M. Poorbe of Munger. All the arrangements for accommodation, meals, medicines etc were made free of charge for them.

The Foundation’s target is of 2000 operations and treatment of eye patients this year (2011) of whom 512 patients were covered in this first camp. Munger’s civil surgeon Dr. Mukesh Kumar speaking on this occasion said that Rahmani Foundation has been doing this service for many years and the good care, facilities and arrangements of the organizers done is a matter of pride. ACMO of Munger Dr. Abid Husain said that free eye camps are held at other places in Munger also but the care and attention with which these are organised by Rahmani Foundation and other facilities provided to patients is found nowhere else.

Rahmani Foundation’s Chairman Maulana Wali Rahmani speaking on this occasion said that Insha Allah a regular, permanent eye hospital will soon be set up and Foundation’s journey in this field will continue successfully. He said that recently 69% students of Rahmani 30 had succeeded in the first part of Chartered Accountants examination whereas the success ratio at all India level was only 24 percent in this examination. Similarly, he said, in Olympiad’s regional competition, out of a total of 27 successful students, five were Muslims and of these 5, 4 belonged to Rahmani 30.
