CBl arrests Arham farm house owner Jeerawala

Ahmadabad: Owner of Arham farm house, where Sohrabuddin and Kausarbi were subjected to atrocities prior to their killings, has been arrested by the CBI and brought before the court for a six-day remand. The court, however, rejected the petition and sent Rajendra Jeerawala to jail.

It may be recalled that the couple was kidnapped while they were travelling by bus on way to Sangli and were lodged at Arham farm house situated between Ahmadabad-Gahdhinagar. Sohrabuddin was killed in a fake encounter near Narol while Kausarbi was killed in mysterious circumstances by injecting her. Her dead body was cremated at Ilol and remains were immersed in Narmada river. Rajendra Jeerawala, brother of Surendra Jeerawala, corporator from Sabarmati constituency owned Arham farm house. The fact got established after Amit Shah’s arrest last month. Abhay Chudasma, DG Vanzara and other IPS officers are believed to have visited the farm house while the couple was lodged here. They are also believed to have been transferred to Disha farm.

CBI made its first arrest in Kausarbi murder case by nabbing Rajendra Jeerawala. Pleading for a seven-day remand for him as an accomplice, the CBI presented him before the court. The court, however, in view of his limited involvement rejected the plea and directed him to be kept in judicial custody. Jeerawala’s pleader filed an application for bail which was rejected by the judge on the ground that it was not within his jurisdiction.
