Order for confiscation of houses of eight policemen

Muzaffar Nagar: A local court, in a 20-year old case of fake encounter, ordered the confiscation of houses of eight policemen when in spite of repeated summons and arrest warrants, they failed in presenting themselves in the court. Chief Judicial Magistrate Suresh Chand Arya ordered the confiscation of the residential properties of the then SHO and seven other police personnel and directed that they be presented in his court on 12 August. According to the prosecution, in a fake encounter in a village of Muzaffar Nagar district on 2 May 1990 one person named Husain Muhammad was killed. On state government’s order, CBI and CID had investigated this case and after their report cases were filed against these eight police personnel.
