From classroom to police lines

YASMIN SHAIKH, MA, BEd and winner of two gold medals, working as a teacher in a leading high school, "Shardayatan" at Surat, where she taught Hindi, Gujarati literature to the students of classes X, XI and XII. Recently, she has passed the Gujarati Public Commission Examination exam. Gujarat govt. has offered her a class-I post in the Revenue Department or the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police in Police Deptt. and asked her to choose the post of her choice. It is surprising that being a woman, she showed her intention to become Dy SP and as such she became a role model for thousands of educated Muslim women by accepting a tough, difficult and challenging job. Shortly, she will be sent for training and then appointed as a Dy SP. Yasmin is the first woman Dy SP in Gujarat Police Service. She intends to clear UPSC. She is pride for India, Gujarat and particularly for Surat. (Yaqubmama, Surat)
