Azamgarh: September 19th, Azamgarh: It was September when two Muslim youths, claimed to be terrorists, were brutally murdered in the infamous fake Batla House encounter. Since then numerous petitions, RTIs, protest marchs, etc have been held to seek justice but all in vain. The government has been deaf to demand of an impartial probe under judicial supervision. As law abiding citizens of this country Muslim community continues to seek democratic means of protests.

A delegation of Association for Welfare, Medical, Educational and Legal Assistance (AWMELA), Azamgarh lead by its President Dr. Javed Akhtar submitted a memorandum to Hon’ble President through D.M. Azamgarh on 20 September, 2010. Once again a demand for time bound high level probe under judicial supervision for the fake Batla House Encounter was made. Hon’ble President was also informed about the sense of insecurity and feeling of hurt among the Muslim community in lack of response to their just demand. The memo was received by Mr. Upadhaya, ADM F&R. A press note was also released. (Salman  Sultan)
