Oman to permit temple and gurdwara

New Delhi: Oman has assured India that it shall soon permit construction of temple and gurudwara in the country. There are roughly five lakh Indians residing in Oman. Sheikh Abdullah, minister of awqaf and religious affairs, gave this assurance to Salman Khurshid, his Indian counterpart who had been in Oman on the occasion of 40th anniversary of the new state as a special representative of the Prime Minister. He declared that such permissions shall be released very soon. Salman Khurshid had a meeting with the Indian community. He discussed bilateral issues with Oman government and measures for strengthening ties between the two countries.
