Seven “suspects of Mumbai” attack held in Spain

Madrid: Spain police claimed on 1 Dec. to have nabbed seven terrorists who had played significant role in the 26/11 attack on Mumbai. Among the arrested persons six are said to be Pakistanis while one is from Nigeria. The mastermind was said to be a Pakistani residing in Thailand. Three persons in Thailand were also arrested in another operation out of which two are Pakistanis and one belongs to Thailand. These people used to steal documents like passports and send them to Thailand, Bangkok, and pass on these to Lashkar and Al-Qaida for forging new documents.

The suspects were arrested in Barcelona (Spain). This group used to help LTTE cadres also. All the passports stolen used to be of tourists. However, the Spanish police conceded on 5 Dec. that they had jumped the gun and the arrested persons had nothing to do with the terrorist attack on Mumbai.
