5 IUML workers killed in bomb blast in Kerala

Five members of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) were killed in a bomb blast on 26 February at Nadapuram in north Kerala. According to police the victims were IUML activists and the bomb went off while they were secretly making bomb.

Chief Minister V S Achutanandan has alleged that it could have been done by the United Democratic Front (UDF) to create violence during the Assembly elections. The Kerala CPI (M) on 1 March demanded a probe into the alleged terror links of E Ahmad the Union Minister of state for External Affairs and president of the Indian Union Muslim League. CPM has also alleged that E Ahmad has links with Islamist terrorist in Kerala.
