Chargesheet filed in Hyderabad blast


Hyderabad: The CBI filed chargesheet in Makkah Masjid blast after a long and patient waiting for more than three years. It accused Abhinav Bharat activists Devendra Gupta and Lokesh Sharma of conspiring and planning the blast. It also enlists six other persons of their involvement which include absconders Sandeep Dange, Ramchandra Kalsangra alias Ramji and the mastermind Aseemanand arrested from Haridwar recently. Sunil Joshi, was killed seven months after the blast on 29 Dec 2007 fearing that he might divulge the conspiracy.

The blast on 18 May 2007 after the Friday prayer had killed nine persons and five persons were killed in police firing in clash after the blast. 80-page chargesheet was filed in the court of 14th Additional Chief Magistrate Court. According to CBI sources 205 persons have been enlisted as witness. The CBI had registered the case in June 2007. The chargesheet includes the statements of the two accused mentioned above which declare that it was an act of retaliation against the activities of LeT and HuJI terror organisations. It is worth reminding that the above two are also accused in Ajmer Dargah blast of 2007.
