Malegaon: re-probe ordered

Mumbai: A special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court directed the CBI to re-investigate the 8 Sept., 2006 Malegaon blast in the wake of Swami Aseemanand's confession. Congress-led CDF government formally requested the CBI to probe the new leads. The CBI, thereafter, received a formal directive from the court. It is believed that with fresh investigations the earlier accused shall be absolved of the terror charges and shall have prospects of an early release.
