Selections from the Holy Quran for AMU Events

Aligarh: At a function in the Faculty of Theology, AMU, Professor Abdur Raheem Kidwai’s book “Selections from the Holy Quran for AMU Events and Programmes” was released by the OSD Development, Prof. Akhtar Haseeb and the Court Member Nawab Ibne Saeed Khan of Chhatari here on 9 March.

The book has been published by AMU’s Faculty of Theology offering relevant Quranic passages to be recited at the University programmes, making the meaning and the relevant message of the Quran available to the audience as it carries background notes and English and Urdu translation of the passages, enabling readers to reflect on the numerous merits of the Quran.

Prof. Akhtar Haseeb, Nawab Ibne Saeed Khan of Chhatari, Dean, Faculty of Theology, Prof. Ali Mohammad Naqavi, Prof. Saud Alam Qasmi, Dr. Abdul Khalique and Dr. Mufti Zahid Ali Khan expressed their views on the utility and importance of the book and termed it a distinctive addition to the academic and cultural heritage of AMU.

Prof. Kidwai said that the work is likely to go a long way in making readers aware of their relationship with their Creator and Lord.  Professor Kidwai, a professor at the Department of English, is the Director, UGC Academic Staff College, AMU and Visiting Professor, Department of English, University of Leicester, UK.
