The Qur’an is the need of every soul

New Delhi: On 5th March a monthly magazine, Afkare Qur’ani, held a meeting at India Islamic Cultural Centre in which Afkare Qur’ani editor Aslam Maqbool said that Qur’an is the book of God which is for the people of the whole world. He said the Qur’an knowledge competitions are going on for four years.

He said that this programme will now be telecasted on a TV channel. Regarding prizes of the Qur’an knowledge competition, he said that the real reward or prize of teaching and learning Qur’an will be given by God but for participants of this competition the first prize is Rs 10 lakh and the second prize is Rs 5 lakhs and the third prize is Rs 3 lakhs. In addition to this, free Haj and Umra will be arranged for 5 to 10 people. Moreover, scholarships will also be given to 20 Muslim students. He said that the competition and prizes are not important as what is important is teaching Qur’an to the people.

On the occasion Dr Mufti Mukarram Ahmad, Shahi Imam of Fatahpuri Masjid, and Maulana Sulaiman Qasmi, imam of Jamia Millia Islamia’s Jama Masjid, also expressed their views.
