Indian Peace Mission to Pakistan

Mumbai: An Indian delegation consisting of prominent personalities and scholars in different fields left for Pakistan on a peace mission. The objective of this delegation is to promote peace and understanding between the two countries. During its stay in Pakistan the delegation will tour cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Lahore etc. and exchange views with prominent political leaders, top government officials, members of civil society, educationists, students and youth representatives, media persons, fishermen etc. Members of the delegation include well-known journalist Kuldip Nayyar, film producer-director Mahesh Bhat, educationist Dr. Bahal Chandra Mangekar, journalists Shahid Siddiqui and Jatin Desai, Kamla Bhasin, Seema Mustafa, Haris Qidwai, Ramesh Yadav and Sanjay Nahar. It may be noted that the visit of this delegation coincides with the meeting of home secretaries of the two governments this month (March). The delegation will be in Pakistan till 25 March.
