Toppers of AMU hall honoured

Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University’s Mohsinul Mulk Hall organized a grand function on 12 October to felicitate toppers of different faculties residing in the Hall. On this occasion Er. Afzal Usmani, Coordinator of the US-based Aligarh Education Endowment Fund, made an earnest appeal to the young students to make optimum use of time and resources available at the University.  He cited the example of Sir Ross Masood, grandson of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, who later became the Vice- Chancellor of the University at the young age of thirty nine on the strength of his merit and talent.

Dr. Suhail Sabir, Provost of the Hall exhorted the students to keep up the same decency, decorum and discipline they have exhibited during the last two years which has made M.M. Hall an example for the other halls of residence to emulate.

Prof. Abdul Aleem fondly recalled the days when he was a resident member of M.M. Hall and even then the hall was a hub of literary cultural and sports activities.

In his presidential remark, Prof. Razaullah Khan, Department of Civil Engineering, stressed upon the need of single-minded devotion towards one’s duty to have an edge over others in a cutthroat competition in all walks of life. Professor Khan also emphasized on the need of adopting a positive thinking. He asked the students not to let negativity spoil their mind and heart. He appealed to all stakeholders to rise above personal interests and think about the betterment of AMU community as a whole.

Mr. Abdul Bari, B.P.E.D., Mr. Md. Saddam Husain Ansari, B.Tech. VI Sem., Mr. Abdu Raheem P., M.A. I year,  Mr. Shaukat Ullah Khan, B.Sc. (F), were felicitated with a certificate of appreciation, a trophy and cash of  prize of Rs. 3000 for achieving the first position in their respective faculties. Dr. Hasan Tahir, a US based illustrious alumnus, sponsored the prizes.
