Mufti Mohammad Shoeb Islahi
Renowned Islamic Scholar, Shaikhul-Hadith (Head teacher of Hadith) of Madrasatul-Islah, Saraimeer, former Principal of that institution Maulana mufti Mohd Shoeb Islahi Qasmi died on 26th Sep 2010 in “Seb Masqat Airport”. Inna Lillahi wa inna Ilaihi rajeoon. He was 63.
The news of his death spread in a short period not only in Saraimeer but also to Delhi, Mumbai and Lucknow, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Masqat etc.
Mufti Mohd Shoeb got his primary education in his village Nandaon Saraimeer , Azamgarh. Then he took admission in the Arabic Department of Madrasa-tul-Islah, Saraimeer. Having got ‘Sanad-e-Fazilah’ (Certificate of fazilah) he went to Darul-Uloom Deoband for more studies. There he completed ‘Daur-e-Hadith’, ‘Takhassus’ and ‘Ifta’. Then he begain to teach in Madrasa Darul-Uloom of Ahmad Nagar Maharashtra. In 1977 he came to Madrasatul-Islah, Saraimeer and until death continuously shouldered different kinds of responsibilities such as teaching, moral training and managing administrative affairs etc. He had been the Principal of Madrasa for 12 years and also taught ‘Bukhari-Shareerf’ and ‘Hujjat-ul-lahil-Balighah especially. A few months ago he had been elected the General Secretary of Old Boys Association of Madrasatul-Islah, Saraimeer. He was also the General Secretary of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, Azamgarh. He was one of the founders of Muslim Fund Saraimeer and Mahakma-Shraiyya Saraimeer. He was also the ‘Imam of Jama Masjid Jadeed and Eid Gaah Saraimeer. He was also the member of Islamic Fiqh Academy (India).
He has left behind six sons and three daughters. in addition to innumerable students spread in India and abroad.
