Amit Shah adopts aggressive posture

New Delhi / Ahmadabad: Since "attack is the best form of defense" Amit Shah has dared to attack one and all to get himself rescued from the mire he has been caught into. Shah and his trusted lieutenants in the police have begun accusing the Supreme Court and the CBI of hatching conspiracy.

In his 89-page petition Amit Shah regards the court "biased" hence its proceedings should be set aside. Launching an unprecedented attack on the Supreme Court, Shah demanded a "re-call" of its 12 January order and 11 August order of three month extension to the CBI. His counsel Ram Jethmalani submitted:
"the order(is) a product of a tripartite understanding and arrangement to the effect that the CBI investigation would be ordered by Hon’ble Mr Justice Tarun Chatterjee (the lead judge who issued the 12 Jan order) as desired by the central government, the central government will provide the Hon’ble Justice a post-retirement assignment and the CBI will refrain from chargesheeting the Hon’ble Justice in the PF scam".

He said that the Sohrabuddin probe is an offshoot of the central government’s failure to sully the BJP-led government. Having failed to tarnish the image of the Gujarat government the central government has chosen Sohrabuddin encounter case out of 700 cases of encounter all over India. He also sought removal of Kandaswamy IPS, incharge of CBI investigation, and also Balvinder Singh, a former Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad for "suppressing the role of the AP police."

Toeing Shah’s line police officers of the state Geetha Johri and Mathur have also accused the CBI of pressurising them under the pretext of interrogation. The two, however, are soon to be in hot water following some other revelations.

Meanwhile, Azam Khan, a friend of Sohrabuddin, before the CBI revealed that a senior IPS officer of the Gujarat police had saved Sohrabuddin in Haren Pandya murder case. This has confirmed Haren Pandya’s father, Vitthal Bhai Pandya’s charges who has been demanding CBI enquiry in his son’s murder case. Sohrabudin was killed because he had "closed the alternative of keeping himself alive and that there were political compulsions…" The agency is probing what those "political compulsions" were.
