Good results of Urdu medium schools
New Delhi: Tenth class results of Urdu medium schools of Delhi in spite of shortage of Urdu and other teachers and non-availability of Urdu textbooks because of the negligent attitude of concerned authorities, are unexpectedly very encouraging this year. Three government Urdu medium schools have achieved 100 percent results whereas among the government-aided senior secondary schools, Zakir Husain Memorial Sr. Sec. School with 99 percent result is once again on top. Sarvodya Kanya Vidyalaa No. 2, Jama Masjid, also once again showed brilliant performance and obtained 100 percent results. The Principal of the School, Dr. Shabana Nazeer, said that this year 68 girls had appeared for the examination and all of them passed with 29 securing distinction marks. The first position in the school was secured by Mehnaz d/o Marghoob Khan, while Alina d/o Ashraf Ali secured the second and Mahjabeen d/o Muhammad Jabeen and Rif’at d/o Muhammad Bilal secured third positions.
Result of Government Boys Sr. Sec. School, Jafarabad, was 100 percent this year. A total of 117 students had appeared for the examination and all of them passed. The first position was secured by Sulaiman Khan, second positions by Muhammad Akram and Muhammad Danish and third positions were secured by two students: Iqrar Ali and Abbas Khan. The result of Zeenat Mahal Girls Sr. Sec. School, Jafarabad, was 89.5% which is better than last year’s. The first, second and third positions were secured by Aisha, Gul Afshan and Afshan Parveen (both) and Soofia and Naaz (both) respectively. Qaumi Sr. Sec. School, Quraish Nagar, improved its result this year securing a hundred percent pass rate as compared to 51.2% last year. Anglo Arabic Sr. Sec. School at Ajmeri Gate, the oldest school in Delhi, slightly improved its performance and as compared to 59.5% last year, this year’s result was 62.6%.
The result of Shafiq Memorial Sr. Sec. Urdu medium School at Bara Hindu Rao was 82% which is better than last year’s. The first, second and third position were secured by Muhammad Sajid, Nizamuddin and both Muhammad Saleem and Miss Shabih Naaz respectively. The result of Zeenat Mahal Girls Sr. Sec. School No.1 (second shift) at Lal Kuan (old Delhi) was 100%. The first and second positions were secured respectively by Saba Sultan and Shamaila Umar. However, the result of the first shift of this school with only 28%, was very very poor.
The result of Mazharul Islam School was 75% which is worse as compared to last year when it was 86%. The first, second and third positions were secured by Zuber Ahmad, Muhammad Akram and Muhammad Asif respectively. The result of another historical school of Delhi in addition to Anglo Arabic School, i.e., Fatehpuri Sr. Sec. School, was 80% as compared to only 51.2% last year. The result of Chashma Building Girls Sr. Sec. School, Ballimaran, was 80% this year, two percent less than last year’s. The first position was secured by Aalia Raees, second by Munira and the third position was won jointly by P. Sheikh, Pasha and Sabiha Zaidi. The result of Hakim Ajmal Khan Sr. Sec. School, Darya Ganj was cent per cent.
The result of Government Boys Sr. Sec. School at Pataudi House in Daryaganj this year saw a decline with a result of 92% compared to last year’s 100 per cent. The first position was secured by Sher Muhammad who is son of a poor carpenter. He secured A1 grade in Mathematics. Muhammad Ibrahim and Paigham Khan, both secured the second positon while Waheed Ali Hashmi secured the third. Sarvodya Bal Vidyalaya No.1, Jama Masjid’s result this year was 90% as compared to only 53% last year. The first position was secured by Muhammad Aatir Shah Chaudhari.
Among the English-medium Muslim schools of Delhi, the result of Rabia Girls Public Sr. Sec. School, Gali Qasim Jan in Ballimaran was 100 percent. All the 31 students who appeared in the 10th Board exam passed. The first, second and third positions were secured by Sadaf Laeeq, Sabiha Nasir and both Bushra Yasmin and Faryal Saleem respectively. Though an English medium school, students performance in Urdu was also excellent. The result of Hoda Modern Public Sec. School in New Jafarabad was 99%. The first position in this school was secured by Uzma, the second by Saood and the third position by both Shah Noor and Imran. The result of the Crescent School at Maujpur was 100 percent. All the 44 students who appeared, passed the exams. The first position was secured by Muhammad Hammad, the second by An’am Farooq and the third position by Abu Zar Jamal. Some other English medium schools like Crescent School at Ghata Masjid in Darya Ganj and New Horizon School near Humayun Tomb etc. have adopted grading system.
