Jamaat-e Islami Central Shura’s resolutions

New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind held its Central Advisory Council (CAC) four-day session at its headquarters here in mid-May. The session demanded:

It is not possible to restore confidence in this agency unless and until necessary amendments are made to pronounce its independent status.

Quality of politicians:
Evils like corruption cannot be rooted out with mere legislation unless and until the persons holding responsible posts do  have in their hearts the fear of God, believe that their Creator and Master is watching them and that they have to be accountable to Him for each and every act of theirs. It is this sense of accountability before God which in fact prohibits individuals from wrongdoing and treading the wrong path. What is needed is that along with stringent legislation, appointment of men of sterling character to responsible posts and binding politics with values, the attention of the ranks and files of the country is drawn towards the shaping of their morals and character.

The process of wreaking violence and atrocities against political rivals especially the leaders and supporters of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami by the Awami League government in Bangladesh has been on for long.  Now this process has been extended to the common Muslims as well, the biggest proof of which is the infliction of uncalled for atrocities by government security agencies on the activists of a mass movement called Hefazat-e-Islam in Dhaka on 5-6 May. These people had gathered there in thousands to demand stern laws against blasphemy and to stringently punish the blasphemers of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be to him). But the government used excessive power to disperse them. The leaders of Hefazat-e-Islam were forcefully thrown out of Dhaka and newspapers and TV channels supporting Hefazat-e-Islam were banned… According to the news reports by authentic national and international media, violence, destructive activities, arson, attacks on masses and desecration of the Holy Qur’an are in fact being perpetrated by state agents and the blame for these acts is levelled against Hefazat-e-Islam movement. The fact is that after seeing the protests of 5-6 May the Awami League government has lost its senses and wants to crush the mass movement rising against it at any cost.
The situation in Syria is getting complicated day by day; incidents of violence and blood-letting are on the increase; civil-war-like condition is prevailing. Israel is benefitting from this situation… The Bashar al-Asad government of Syria is responsible for this entire situation; for it, having used undue force against its own citizens, is killing them. The news of desecration of the graves of Hajr bin Adi and other revered personalities in Syria is also a matter of concern for the Ummah.
